Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about GWC alternative import and export routes across the GCC.
These are flexible and safe multimodal shipping options that allow you to import goods into your destination country via connected seaports or airports in neighboring GCC countries, with final delivery using land transportation. This is particularly useful if direct shipping to your country is disrupted, costly, or time-consuming, offering greater supply chain resilience.
You can benefit from a selection of the comprehensive range of services GWC offers. This includes air, ocean, and land freight, in-country or transit customs clearance, bonded storage at airport/seaport of transit, IOR (Importer of Record) service, contract logistics and last-mile delivery across the GCC (Qatar, KSA, UAE, Oman, and Bahrain).
The key transshipment hubs are:
Seaports: Jeddah Islamic Port, King Abdullah Port (KSA), Sohar Port (Oman), and Khor Fakkan Port (UAE).
Airports: Riyadh KFIA (RUH), Jeddah KAIA (JED), Dammam KFIA (DMM) in KSA, and Muscat International Airport (MCT) in Oman.
For imports into your destination country and depending on service availability from shipping lines and airlines, your goods can be shipped to Jeddah Islamic Port, King Abdullah Port, Sohar Port, or Khor Fakkan Port. Alternatively, they can be flown to Riyadh King Khaled International Airport, Muscat International Airport, Jeddah King Abdulaziz International Airport, or Dammam King Fahad International Airport.
Once your cargo arrives at these transit points, GWC will arrange for the swift and secure transfer of your goods using our Land Transportation Service, perform customs clearance at the connected land border point of entry, and deliver your cargo to your set delivery location.
For exports from your origin country and depending on service availability from shipping lines and airlines, your goods will be moved using our Land Transportation Service on transit mode to connect at Jeddah Islamic Port, King Abdullah Port, Sohar Port, or Khor Fakkan Port. Alternatively, they can be exported from Riyadh King Khaled International Airport, Muscat International Airport, Jeddah King Abdulaziz International Airport, or Dammam King Fahad International Airport.
